WINNIPEG, October 9th, 2026
As the 2026–27 Manitoba Junior Hockey League season gathers momentum, the Monarchs have bolstered their roster with an impressive injection of high-level talent. Featuring WHL draft picks, provincial champions, and elite playmakers, the current recruit class brings exceptional skill, speed, and versatility to the squad.
Here is a closer look at four high-profile additions leading the next generation of talent for the Monarchs this season.
Chace Gregg | Forward
Chace Gregg joins the Monarchs as one of the most dynamic young offensive talents in Manitoba junior hockey. A high-octane playmaker with elite vision, Chace spent the 2025–26 campaign dominating with the Winnipeg Bruins U18 AAA program, putting up an astounding 89 points (20 goals, 69 assists) in 45 games. His playmaking prowess earned him MU18HL First All-Star Team honors, the league assist title, and the Most Sportsmanlike Player award while guiding his team to a provincial championship.
Selected 50th overall (3rd Round) by the Victoria Royals in the WHL Prospects Draft but has now signed a WHL scholarship and developmental contract with the Wenatchee Wild, and was also a WHL Cup Gold Medalist with Team Manitoba, Chace brings high-end skill, top-line playmaking, and game-breaking creativity to the Monarchs’ offensive core.
Brayden Gregg | Defenseman
Twin brother to Chace, Brayden Gregg gives the Monarchs a cornerstone presence on the blue line. A smooth-skating, modern puck-moving defenseman, Brayden combines defensive poise with quick transition ability. Like his brother, Brayden was instrumental in the Winnipeg Bruins U18 AAA championship run and represented Team Manitoba at the WHL Cup.
His potential on the back end is widely recognized across the Western Canadian hockey landscape, leading to him signing a WHL scholarship and developmental contract with the Wenatchee Wild. Brayden has already made an immediate impact for the Monarchs early this season, showcasing his elite speed and scoring threat with a memorable shorthanded goal during the team’s home opener.
Carter Kingerski | Forward
Carter Kingerski arrives as a high-profile offensive weapon at the center position, bringing a proven track record of elite point production. Drafted 35th overall (2nd Round) by the Tri-City Americans in the WHL Prospects Draft (and recently acquired by the Prince Albert Raiders), Kingerski has long been regarded as one of the top forward prospects in the region.
During his U15 AAA tenure, Kingerski swept top individual honours by being named both the Most Valuable Player and Impact Player of the Year, alongside capturing WHL Cup Gold with Team Manitoba. With high hockey IQ, sharp scoring instincts, and strong multi-zone responsibility, Kingerski gives the Monarchs an impactful top-six forward capable of driving play in all situations.
Dylan Prettie | Forward
Rounding out the featured group of newcomers is Dylan Prettie, an energetic and hard-nosed forward who adds relentless drive and physical edge to the Monarchs lineup. Developed through the local AAA system, Prettie spent last season with the Winnipeg Wild U18 AAA squad, contributing 22 points in 47 regular-season games while establishing himself as a dependable, high-motor player.
Known for his non-stop work ethic, willingness to win battles in tight spaces, and strong forechecking instincts, Prettie provides the Monarchs with depth, toughness, and timely scoring capability—already potting his first official MJHL regular-season goal on the road against the Northern Manitoba Blizzard.
Building for Success
The addition of these four standout players underscores the Monarchs’ commitment to building a fast, skilled, and competitive roster for the 2026–27 campaign. As the season progresses and chemistry develops, look for this high-profile quartet to play a major role in pushing the Monarchs up the MJHL standings.
